Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken (about 3-4 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

Prepare the Chicken:

Rinse the chicken under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.

Make sure to remove any giblets from the cavity if they’re included. Truss the chicken if desired, to help it cook evenly.

Preheat the Air Fryer:

Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (180°C) for about 5 minutes.

Season the Chicken:

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper to create a seasoning rub.

Rub the mixture all over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

Place in the Air Fryer Basket:

Once the air fryer is preheated, place the seasoned chicken in the air fryer basket breast side down.

If your air fryer has a rotisserie function, secure the chicken on the rotisserie spit according to your air fryer’s instructions.

Cook the Chicken:

Cook the chicken at 360°F (180°C) for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, carefully flip the chicken breast side up if using the basket method. If using the rotisserie function, you can let it continue cooking as is.

Continue Cooking:

Cook the chicken for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C)

when measured with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh without touching bone.

Rest and Serve:

Once the chicken is cooked through, carefully remove it from the air fryer and let it rest for about 10 minutes before carving.

This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy and flavorful chicken. Carve and serve as desired.

Enjoy your delicious Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken!
